Something besides ped?
Hello,

I'm running QNX 6.2 and ped seems unable to read files generated from
other text editors, specifically jed--I get 'encoding errors' no
matter what encoding I try. The files I'm trying to read are standard
text files as far as I know, fully grep-able etc. Is there another
graphical text editor? (Something like gedit, TextWrangler, AnyEdit,
or what ped is intended to be, etc.) Thanks--

Matt

Could your file be something like Microsoft text (where the ^M at end of
each line)? For example, the file is edited by a text editor and saved
in a windows box and then you transfered it onto nto.

You may try to run on nto "textto your_file" to make it clean and see
what happens then.

Thanks
Weijie

Maybe but seems not really. Don't know the ped on 6.2, but I just wrote
and saved/read out a line of Chinese on ped on 6.4.

Why not vi ;-)).

Thanks

He said graphical editor. Maybe gvim is available for 6.2? Workspace maybe?
