IDE Tau Alpha I Build#

The next release of the IDE is code named Tau. Experiment the new features of Tau using the Alpha I build. We welcome your suggestions for improvement.

What's new?#

• Eclipse 3.3 platform
• CDT 4.0
• QNX System Information tool uses the XStream object serialization library. The tool is now capable of logging for a long period of time without running out of system memory.

Installation Instruction#

• Download and install QNX Momentics 6.3.2
• Download Tau Alpha I from the Project Download area.
• Save the downloaded ".zip" file to a temporary directory, use your favorite unzip program to extract the zip file. Sample unzip programs include "Winzip" on Windows and "unzip" command on Linux.
• Extract the zip file content. It will create a "eclipse" folder and the top level directory.
• On Linux, make sure the "$QNX_HOST/usr/bin" is at the beginning of the $PATH environment variable. This can be inspected by issuing this command in a shell:
  • echo $PATH
• On Linux, start a shell and set the "LD_LIBRARY_PATH" by issuing this command:
  • export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$QNX_HOST/usr/bin:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Run the "eclipse/qde" executable to launch the IDE
• On Windows, make sure the "%QNX_HOST%\usr\bin" is included in the %PATH% environment variable. This can be inspected by issuing this command in a Windows command prompt:
  • set %PATH%
• On Windows, run the "eclipse\qde.exe" executable to launch the IDE.
