svn co fails   
This worked last time I tried it (in 2008).  But now all I get is:

svn checkout --username xxx http://community.qnx.com/svn/repos/coreos_pub
Authentication realm: <http://community.qnx.com:80>; Authorization Realm
Password for 'xxx': 
Authentication realm: <http://community.qnx.com:80>; Authorization Realm
Username:

Is this a known issue / is there a workaround?

Depending on your licencing, you may be running afoul of changes to the
source access policy:

Is the core-network part of the OS microkernel ??

I got the impression that the days of "open source" are gone !!

The svn still fails, so I _assume_ that the core_networking source code is restricted, but I have not yet been able to 
determine that.

A bit of the back story...

As a development partner, we downloaded, installed, and activated QNX 6.4.1.  It      appeared to us that some of the 
code did not install ( specifically /dev/io-pkt ) and we're trying to remedy that.

A few things that we're trying to determine...

1. on a basic, fresh install of QNX 6.4.1, should the /dev/io-pkt directory and files be installed?

2. if not, is there a switch or checkbox that we should have used during the install?

3. can this code be added to the OS from the install CD, post-install?

4. if not, what is the proper way to obtain the missing directories/files?

5. is the /dev/io-pkt part of the core_networking source code (I think that it is)?

6. is the core_networking source code part of the restricted content?

The io-pkt binaries ship (/sbin/io-pkt*) but no source.  There's no
/dev/io-pkt directory.  You can do a 'pidin' to see if it's running.
If it is an 'ifconfig' should show interfaces.

The core_networking source code is part of the restricted content. That doesn't mean that you're not eligible to access 
it though. As mentioned in the policy FAQ (http://community.qnx.com/sf/wiki/do/viewPage/projects.community/wiki/
UpdatedQNXSourceAccessPolicyFAQ), QNX Software Systems will continue to make its proprietary OS and middleware source 
code available to qualified customers, partners, and educational institutions. However, some of this code will no longer
 be available to hobbyists or to the general public. 

Download the QNX Restricted Content Application Form (http://www.qnx.com/download/feature.html?programid=20745) from the
 QNX download center. Print the form, fill it in, and email a scanned version to licensing@qnx.com. QNX Software Systems
 will evaluate your request and provide further instructions.

IMHO ... that's problematic because of the fact that this code contains 
GPL 2.0  code (e.g. wpa)

wpa is dual licenced gpl / bsd.

But you made it public, and possibly took public contributions, why go from non-transparent, to transparent, and then 
back again?

If the source is going to be taken back like this, you guys could at least have advertised it a little more, I mean.. 
the only reference is some obscure "FAQ" which uses some weird terminology.

This is just sneaky and very unprofessional,

Please ask that a news article be published on QNX or foundry27 which gives a little more insight into this, maybe 
telling people how the hell they're supposed to gain access to this rumoured revised "click-through" agreement for 
'Accessible' code.

But, now (and I might be asking this in the wrong location) I am not able to find:

lib/io-pkt

stuff.

I was able to download the whole trunk.  It has lib, but no io-pkt.

Any suggestions?

I have seen on the CVS pages that under cmmt27461 "- Make lib/io-pkt as a LATEDIR."

I see that in the Makefile, but cannot find lib/io-pkt.

/trunk/lib/io-pkt/ is the right svn path. If you don't see it it probably means either of 
1. the gate keepers of the source code have chosen not to publish it
2. the pusblishable version is in a different svn repository. 

The legal guys you already have contact with, or possibly people in the Networking project would know where to apply to 
get the source:
