Source code for rpcbind / portmap?
Dear all,

does anyone know where to find the source code for the rpcbind (aka portmap) utility? It seems that it is not part of
the core networking trunk. We need to get the latest version which includes a fix that is not yet part of any QNX
service pack. We got a binary for x86 from QNX support a few months ago but now we need the same fix for PPC so I
thought that the best idea would be to get the latest source code and compile it ourselves.

Kind regards and many thanks in advance,
Gerald Ruescher

RE: Source code for rpcbind / portmap?
Hi Gerald:

The full core networking release is broken into two phases:
Phase 1 was the introduction of the new stack and all new / changed binaries
required to support the new stack. This is what you see in the networking
project today. The reason for this was to scope down / de-risk the amount
of testing effort required for the initial release of the new stack.

Phase 2 brings in all remaining source for the "core networking component"
(i.e. source that didn't have to get changed for interoperability with
io-pkt). Shortly after io-pkt is branched for release (within the next
month), we will start pulling this source into the networking repository on
the foundry. This isn't quite as easy as just copying it out of the old and
into the new repository since there's an analysis phase that we go through
to ensure that we haven't included source that has a questionable license.

This does unfortunately mean that the shortest route towards getting a new
binary is through a PSP request. The good news is that all the source will
be available in the not too distant future.

	Robert.
