The IDE 5.0 configuration file format is incompatible with former versions.

The effect: If anyone uses older IDE versions, information such as build variants and others get lost.

Worse: Command line tools such as mkbuild cannot handle the new file format, rendering automatic builds impossible for 
instance.

Would be really nice to see a patch and not to be told again, that IDE 5.0 is just experimental.
