mkifs attribute semantic question
Someone is trying to do:
[dperms=0777] /dir/file = /some/dir/file
hoping that dperms would be applied to /dir
My reading of dperms vs perms is that they both exists so that those
attribute can be set separately and globally.
I view the attributes as attributes to be applied to the "thing"
whenever applicable. In the above example, the "thing" is 'ls', and not
'/my_bin2', and therefore, dperms is irrelevant.
But it's not unreasonable to view this in a different way where:
[dperms=0777 perms=0644] /dir/file = /some/dir/file
would set 'dir' to 0777 and 'file' to 0644.
Any words of wisdom disambiguate this semantic appreciated.
