Loading DDKs
It's been a long time since I've been on a unix system but still, I baffled.

I've downloaded the the char DDK, changed the access rights but can't seem to get it to install from the terminal in PH.

$./ddk-devc-6.3.0SP1-2004....-qnx6.sh  {full name spelled out}

returns
bin/sh:  $./ddk-devc-6.3.0SP1-2004....-qnx6.sh: not found

I can "cat" it, and list it (by name) but can't seem to find the secret.

On the good side, I've got the OS rebuilt for multiprocessors and that seems to be working well.

Help please...

Judging by the error message, you're typing a "$" at the beginning of
the name. The usual prompt for the shell is a "$", so the installation
notes include it in the sample command (which maybe isn't a good idea);
try invoking the installer like this:

./ddk-devc-6.3.0SP1-2004....-qnx6.sh

Steve,

Thank you. I really thought I had tried that (about a dozen times) but it worked this time...
