Boot fails on VIA EPIA M10000 mini itx Board   
Hi,
this board contains a Via C3 'Nehemia' 1GHz cpu, VT8235 South Bridge and CLE266 North Bridge . Both of these support 
chips together are referred to as the VIA Apollo CLE266 chipset, 500MB ram, 4GB Compact-Flash card as ssd, a dvd-rw 
drive. Windows and Linux are running well. The installation itself had worked, but the boot fails. 
It displays Hit Esc for .altboot ................................................................S
then it hangs.
What can I do?

Hello Jürgen,
“S” in this case means “No OS signature was found”.
Try .altboot by pressing ESC while the dots are printed.

.boot uses DMA for accessing the EIDE controller, while .altboot doesn't.

Hello! Thank you for ansering!
Unfortunaly it doesn't work. The ESC-Key is not recognized???
But you are right. The CF-Card interface works only in PIO-Mode
Do you have any other idea?

Hello Jürgen,
Boot from the installation CD and check whether the CF-Card is somehow recognized (/dev/hd*, /dev/hd?t?? created or 
mounted).
