Installation on Windows 7
I am trying to install Windows host on Win 7 64b
and installing fails on "Can not write to C:\Windows\Font directory"
It is the current "qnxsdp-6.5.0-201007091524-win32.exe"
Can anybody help me. It would be greatly appreciated.
RE: Installation on Windows 7
Did you try running the installer in "administrative" mode (through the right click menu) ?

Re: RE: Installation on Windows 7
Yes, I did. I am logged in as admin and have right clicked "run as admin"
also "TrustedInstaller" for windows directory did not have write premission.
This is really crazy. It is saying "C:\Windows\Font directory does not have write permission. If I go to properties of
font dir there is no security tab.
RE: RE: Installation on Windows 7
I'd have to double check on my W7x64 at home, but I think the boys in Redmond changed how the fonts folder behaves.

Google found this article that may help explain things (but not fix them, unfortunately).

Re: RE: RE: Installation on Windows 7
Have you tried running the installer with User Account Control (UAC) off? Installation note suggests you turn it off.

http://www.qnx.com/developers/articles/inst_4229_6.html

You can disable it from ...

Access User Control Panel from Start Menu -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Account
Click on User Account Control settings link. Move the Slider to Never Notify

Yes I have and I read that on the site. Ref 77791
I have been migrating to Win7 and several software
packages been giving me problems. Installing Nero also fails.
But most things I've fixed or got around. Not this one.
Thanks for the help.

RE: Nero install failure

I know this isn't the "best" board for it, but I had an issue with Nero 9 when I migrated to Win 7. I got the latest
update for Nero 9 (didn't buy 10) and it works just fine for me.

Re: RE: RE: Installation on Windows 7
Can you post your installation log file? It should be named installOptionalLog.txt and you can find it under your temp
directory, which can be found by running "echo %TEMP%" in command line.

Re: RE: RE: Installation on Windows 7
This System is at home. I will post in a couple of hours.
Re: RE: RE: Installation on Windows 7
Here is my install log. Short but shows the problem.
Attachment: Text installOptionalLog.txt 2.07 KB
Re: RE: RE: Installation on Windows 7
I have FIXED my problem. Well not really but I re-installed
WIN7 and the first piece of software to go on was QNX.
Do not understand it, but possibly I should move on.
Thanks to all those willing to assist me in troulbleshooting.
