Forum Topic - 6.2.1 to 6.3.2: (4 Items)

6.2.1 to 6.3.2
I work in a lab where we use QNX 6.2.1 NC. I am thinking of upgrading to the latest version (6.3.2?)

I was looking for a document that covered this process, but could not find it. So here I am, asking an FAQ probably:

Will I be able to upgrade "in-place" ? Or will I have to do a full fresh install, and then move all my files etc. back ?

Also, how do I get an academic license ?

Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: 6.2.1 to 6.3.2
So I found this; this covered a lot of what I asked...

http://www.qnx.com/developers/docs/6.3.2/momentics/installation_guide/neutrino_hosts.html#Install

My only question now is whether after installing QNX 6.3.2 on a new partition on my existing 6.2.1 machine, will I be
able to access the data on the 6.2.1 partition easily ?

Thanks !

Also, I would still like to find out how to get an academic license.

Hi Mad (if that's your real name - o.O),

You will need to perform a fresh install in order to upgrade from 6.2.1 to
6.3.2. To access the data on your 6.2.1 system, you'll find the files under
/fs/hd0-qnx4* where * is the partition that it resides on.

As to the academic license, if you go to the folllowing URL you'll be able
to choose which license applies to you.
