The 3 keepalive parameters are delay, interval and retry count.
1) "delay" is the number of seconds until keepalive packets start being
sent
2) "interval" is the number of seconds between keepalive packets
3) "retry" count is the number of keepalive packets
The default setting is -k 20,5,3 which means that there can be 20
seconds of idle time before a keepalive packet is sent. If there is no
response, a total of 3 packets will be sent 5 seconds apart. If at the
end of this there is still no response, the network connection will be
assumed to have failed.

I'd like some clarification on the field specify in the -k argument.
I understand keepalive delay. Interval I'm not sure of, interval of
what?
What is the relation ship between keepalive and interval?
