Hi Mario. This problem was introduced in 6.3.0 by code in shelf's taskbar
plugin that checks to make sure a new taskbar entry is associated with a
valid PID. Of course remote processes will not be in the local list of pids.
I encountered this problem in 2006 by using the -s option that most Photon
apps have. I specified a photon server across the network, eg. "-s
/net/myotherhost/dev/photon" and the app came up on "myotherhost", but
without a taskbar entry.
I fixed this as part of work I was doing for PR29928, and the fix will be
out with 6.4.0.
If you want, I can send you the x86 taskbar.so that I built back then.
Regards,
Max
