Forum Topic - Momentics Target Connection: (5 Items)

Momentics Target Connection
Hi,

I am having problems connecting my momentics IDE to an X86 target. I have qconn running on the target, which is also my
host PC - I am running QnX under vmware. I can ping from the QnX machine to my host PC and vice versa so I know the
network connection is OK.

Whenever I try to create a new target and connect I get the following error:

java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: connect

Any ideas what I am doing wrong.

Mark.
Re: Momentics Target Connection
Did you make sure "qconn" starts up at the same TCP port as the one you put in when you created a new target connnection
. The default is port "8000".

Also did you use the IP address of your NTO VM? If you use name instead of IP address you need to ensure it can be
resolved to the correct IP address.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your quick reply.

Yes I am using the default port for both target and
host (not specifying on the target and I understand
from the docs the default is then 8000) and I am using
the IP address in both cases and not the name.

Thanks.

Mark.

Re: Momentics Target Connection
can you run telnet on this port?
telnet targetIP 8000

do you have firewall or something that may block this access?

Re: Momentics Target Connection
That works fine. Seems to be a conflict on my
firewall. Since its working on a different network.

Thanks,

Mark.
