Flash filesystem driver?do ETFS and devf-* the same thing?

hi all:
          can you tell me whether the Etfs and the devf  is the same thing?
in many references , it says we need to use the devf-* to build our flash system,but in my BSP,there is just a ETFS. 
Dose the ETFS take place of the devf  in the new BSP?
