Forum Topic - Using remote DISPLAY: (6 Items)

Using remote DISPLAY
I would like to run an application (even pterm for that matter) on the qnx
machine, but set the display to a remote machine.
Something like running "xterm -dispaly <remote machine>" on a unix
machine.
How can that be done?
I tried to change the environment variable DISPLAY, but it didn't work.

thanks,

RE: Using remote DISPLAY
Change the PHOTON environment variable: /net/machine/dev/photon or use the -s argument.

RE: Using remote DISPLAY
Or you can try using phditto and/or phindows. They are designed for
remote display of applications. See the documentation on "service mode"
(-s option):

RE: Using remote DISPLAY
Big warning ( Steve are you listening? ), phditto and phindows will create a virtual graphic device which Photon will
render into as well as the local graphic cards. Drawing operation will thus be perform on the 2 devices and the slower
of the 2 will win. Meaning that if you connect with phditto/phindows over a slow medium ( even 10Mbits), any program
doing graphics about ( that includes pterms ) will be slow down.
