Is there a roadmap for release of drivers for new hardware?

For example the Net.i82540 does not support current intel PCI-e
chipsets.
We were able to successfully test it using the experimental Net.e1000
available on this forum but the netinfo does not work.

We are especially interested in current network, filesystem and video
chipsets.
