Forum Topic - QNX4 Intel 82583V Gigabit Ethernet and Core2 / multicore support: (4 Items)

QNX4 Intel 82583V Gigabit Ethernet and Core2 / multicore support
We are looking for a new motherboard as the current motherboard we are using for our product is approaching EOL.

One motherboard we are evaluating has the Intel 82583V Ethernet controller and Socket 775 CPU support.

Question 1:
Is there a driver for the Intel 82583V Gigabit Ethernet controller?
Net.e1000 indicates it supports 8254X and 8257X. Would this driver work for 8258X chipsets as well (with or without a -
d device ID override?) Or is there another driver that might work?
We currently have the 2010-05-21 Net.e1000 driver from the Software Updates 2010 wiki page.

Question 2:
Are core2 CPU's supported by QNX 4?
If a dual core CPU is installed, does it work at all?
I'm assuming that if it works, only the first core would be used, is this correct or does QNX4.25 actually use more than
 one core if available?
If only single cores work with QNX, are there any good suggestions for Socket 775 CPU's for use with QNX, or should we
look for a motherboard with different CPU socket?

Is this issue solved with 2012 network drivers updates within Net.e1000 file ?

Here's the latest driver for you to try.
