Which VMware product are you using?

Should have 
Operating System: Other
Version: Other
Hard disk should be EIDE
Hard disk should be created with size at least 2G
256 MB memory is fine
Networking NAT generally works well.

I see that your VM tried to do a network boot first, it should be set to boot from CD ISO image first time and then Hard
 Disk once the OS have been installed.
