Runtime CD of QNX 6.4.1
Hello,

at what time will be available a run-time CD for QNX 6.4.1 ??

We have requests from different departments of TATA Motors and other big companies of India.

Should we promote the version 6.3.2 with its broken network interface ??

Why is it not possible to buy simply a run-time key for the lite version of 6.4.1 ??

Best Regards

Armin Steinhoff

This "howto" isn't addressing new end users of QNX6 as mentioned in the RT kit:

"These instructions assume familiarity with the Neutrino operating system from a user perspective, general POSIX
commands such as cp and tar, and basic Korn shell scripting. A study of the installation notes forthe Neutrino-hosted
version of the QNX Software Development Platform is highly recommended."

The Neutrino-hosted version of Momentics is also not available!

IMHO ... there is a lot of confusing facts which are able to kill the interest in a QNX based solutions.

Why is it not possible for QSS to create - may be with the RT kit - only once an ISO imgage with the full run-time
version and offer it for downloadung? Why must every end user create such an ISO image again and again? Why must a new
end user sign a huge RLA? Is the RLA at all applicable for a single licensed run-time?

Every one will get here a bad feeling about the customer orientation of QSS!

BTW, it is always possible to buy a run-time version of Windows 7 without such a creazy overhead!

If QSS has seriously something like a strategy for the industrial market then they should REBUILD the platform for
industrial software systems ...

PS: there is no need for a run-time CD ... everyone is able to download an ISO image and burn such an image to a CD !

and take also these in account:

These developers are loosing time in creating again and again a bootable ISO file !!
