I'm not sure what Apple is stating for some of those, but the min firmware 
for those newer devices (iphone 3G -> 2.x, iPhone 3.x) should be fine as 
they were released after the noted versions from the docs.

The itouch 2nd gen would need to have a firmware > 1.1 installed on it.

I'm not aware of any differences between these devices for firmware...

I have tried using the following iPods on Aviage MM 1.2, and no problem at all.

1. iPod Nano 4th generation
2. iPod Touch 2nd generation
3. iPhone 3G
