On a friday afternoon, thought it was a good time to take my hat off too the core group. Gcc 4.3.3 included in 4.6.1 is probably as close to the official gcc release ( 4.4.0) as you can get.
Not only that but the core dev tools group is already hard at work on integrating with 4.4.0! (Not for 6.4.1 obviously, but good nevertheless!)
