Hardware recognising by boot program.   
At the initially boot of the QNX4 image OS start program boot -v, which gives line
 
726MHz 1586/1587 PCI bus boot modules:...
 
What mean every  part of this line:
 
- 726MHz ?
- 1586/1587 ?
- PCI bus ?
 
Some time we have a problem and get this line like

7MHz 1586/1587 PCI bus boot modules

or

10MHz 1586/1587 PCI bus boot modules
 
and QNX4 is not loaded. 

Here with previous messages BIOS about checking the memory and about list device on PCI-bus looks normally.
 
Is this hardware or software problem? 

Now in use version of boot program  from 07-Aug-98. Is it necessary to update boot program from 20-02-2007?

The numbers are cpu speed and cpu/fpu type. Old boot doesn't always work on the faster cpu - this is exactly the problem
 addressed by the new boot patch.

But how to explain that effect:

after any sof or hard reboot after problem cpu speed looks normal?

There are timing issues on faster CPUs when writing/reading timer register, while calculating CPU speed.  The problem 
can be intermittent, as in your case.
Incorrect cpu speed value then confuses some drivers. (In fact, if you are inclined to experiment, wait and see if it 
eventually boots when speed is incorrect.) Also please let us know if new 'boot' works for you.

New 'boot' version worked stable last week and problem practically disappeared.

Where does the new 'boot' version reside?  I don't see it under downloads on the QNX4 site.
