I'm already using gcc 4.2.3 to build my application for testing purposes. It works perfectly so far. Nevertheless is 
there any chance that you make the newer version available as a separate download? I do not want to switch to the 
prerelease of QNX 6.4 that does contain gcc 4.2.4 - as stated in the announcement.

4.2.3 is available, 4.2.4 is not yet (but will be soonish).

Any news on the date of arrival of the gcc 4.2.4 tar archive? In this thread is was mentioned twice that it will arrive 
"soon".

Hi,

well, still no 4.2.4 archive.
Can I make the archive out of the official QNX 6.4 Release or should I wait ?

I have build many of our drivers with 4.2.4 under QNX 6.4 and I must say, that the results are shorter and faster 
compared to the 3.3.5 Compiler. So it is very interesting for us, to build our next driver releases for 6.3.x with the 
new compiler.

The separate package is currently going through testing. It will be 
available soon.

For my own curiousity, since 4.2.4 is a patch level upgrade (regression 
fixes only), which PRs that are not fixed in 4.2.3 that you expect to 
have fixed in 4.2.4?

sorry, I had no look at the PR's.
My stupid thought was, that it would make sense for us, to use the QNX mainstream compiler(GCC 4.2.4) for 6.3.x and 6.4.
x Releases of our drivers.
As you said before, it will be available soon, I can still wait for it.

Same for us,
we cannot upgrade to 6.4.0 for several reasons but we want to use 4.2.4 on 6.3.2 because we found out in trials that 
stringstream performance is much better with this version.
On the other hand we do not want to use 4.2.1 because we hope to be able to switch to 6.4.0 in the near future.

By the way, we are using exactly the driver, michael tasche is developing and hearing that these will faster with 4.x.x 
excites me.
