Hi,
we are testing Pg.i830 driver on the board with i965GME device (0x2a12).
From time to time Photon starts fine, but sometimes GUI stops at black screen
(this is a random issue).
Maybe somebody can take a look at this problem ?
It would be great to have 0x2a12 on the list of supported devices...

I reported the same problem with the 2a12 on 10/15/2009 (topic 10291).
I also reported the problem with the little black lines when I restarted photon.
Maybe you have to wait a long time for the fixes...

Looks like that I found a workaround for the "little black lines" issue.
I tested it on two machines, no problem so far.
To my knowledge the second problem can be fixed only by the Pg.i830 modification...

I can not test your work-arount right now. A year ago I had a test board with the 0x2a12 chip (Adlink). But with this
problems we could not use it, so we gave it back.
As we usualy start photon just once, the "little black lines" issue is a minor problem for us. The main problem was,
that it stoped with a black screen at a chance of 50%.
Since then I waited for updates that might fix the problem...
As I see today, there is a new driver version.
Do you still have the board with the 0x2a12 device ?
It would be great, if you could test the new version with this device and tell me if the "black screen" issue is fixed.

we have a cpu with the 0x2A12 chipset from Adlink and we tried the latest pg.i830 driver but we still experience the
black screen problem when we start Photon with a 50% probability. This bug seems not to be fixed with this last release.
Can we expect this problem to be fixed soon? Is there any update or beta version to be tested?

Hi Marco,
you have to address the question to Oleg Bolshakov - he is the man at QNX. I'm just another user who tries to keep an
old system alive with new hardware.
But probaly Oleg he read it anyway.
His last post of (11/30/2010 9:31 AM post76419) says that he fixed something. So you should try the latest update of the
driver, available in the file release section.
I can not test it, because I don't have this board anymore.
If you test the updated driver with the this 0x2A12 Adlink board, then it would be nice if you share the results with us
.
By the way : is the Adlink board the CPCI 3700A ?

I didn't know anything about the black screen problem until you wrote your
message. As far as I know this issue isn't reproduced on another 0x2A12
controllers, so it seems that this is an Adlink specific issue.
The latest Pg.i830 driver is available from the Software Updates 2010
page:
http://community.qnx.com/sf/wiki/do/viewPage/projects.qnx4/wiki/SoftwareUpdates2010
Another updated or beta version of the Pg.i830 driver isn't exist.

Unfortuantelly, nothing changed and from time to time photon changs at black screen. Verified with the 0x2a12 device.
