We would like to consider a PHY-less design with MAC-to-MAC communication, with an MPC 8536e CPU processor.

Has anybody tried this? Or do you know if this a feature that the mpc85xx network driver may support in the future?

Hi 

Yes i had tried a design without phy. It's no problem.
My design was with MII interface but should not give problem.

My PPC was not 8536 but a 83xx but this serie also using driver mpc85xx and this working without problem.
