RE: What are the steps and gotchas to running io-net on 6.4.0 ?
They should also use all of the associated configuration utilities and
libraries as well. Nothing from io-pkt should be used (utilities and
libs (e.g. libsocket)). Essentially, anything related to networking
should be copied over. I don't doubt that some things will run as is,
but (for example) the three that you mention (ifconfig, nicinfo,
netstat) definitely need to be copied.

Subject: What are the steps and gotchas to running io-net on 6.4.0 ?
I have had more than one customer tell me that they need to be able to
run io-net on 6.4 - typically because they have custom code in the
stack, or custom filters, and they work nicely and they don't need all
of the new io-pkt features, but they do want the 6.4 kernel, or just
they want to run on a BSP that is only available in 6.4.
What binaries from 6.3.2 do they need to install on 6.4 ? I'm confident
that they need io-net, npm-tcpip.so, npm-qnet.so if they use it, their
filters & any driver binaries, but can they use the native ifconfig,
nicinfo, netstat, or do they need the 6.3.2 versions of those too ?
Anything else ?
Thanks !
Dave
