The stack has to provide the appropriate API and infrastructure for the
driver to connect in.  That's where the hc variants come in.  If no hardware
driver is provided, the internal workings default to the software
encryption.

I couldn't find anywhere in the wiki that mentioned the '-hc' variants.  I
thought the .use files would explain but they don't.

Is "hc" ...  "hardware compression"?  I thought that would be a driver
function, not a stack function.
