Creating corrupted text-file
Hello

I would want to create corrupted text-file for test purpose.

If i read the corrupted file (for example by cat-command or directly by C-software), it tells something like "corrupted
file detected".

How this can be possible ?

I think i can edit the file by spatch-editor (hex-editor), but i dont know what exactly i should destroy from file.
Maybe it is not possible to create corrupted file by that way ?

Hi Esa,

as a rule of thumb, text files aren't corrupted.

The message you're seeing is propably "corrupted file /system/ detected", which is a little bit more serious than just
having a 'bad' file, but can possibly be fixed.

What kind of file system is that file on that you're having trouble with? qnx4? If so, try running "chkfsys". qnx6? Try
"chkqnx6fs" (I think that's the name). dos? ...

Ok. This problem occurs sometimes when power (electricity) of computer disappears immediately. We are using Flash-
harddisk.

I know the chkfsys-command and i have already used it for solve this problem.

But it would be good to create that kind of corrupted file by manually. It would help testing a lot.

I forgot to answer. We are using QNX Neutrino 6.3.0.
