NTPD and timers   
Questions about the interaction between NTPD and system timers.  I wonder if system timers are effected when the time is
 adjusted.  I see two cases that may act differently.
1) In small adjustments the time is slowed or speed up.  What does this do to timers?
2) Large adjustments to the time (from "ntpdate" or "ntpd -gqx").  Does this effect timers?
