The release not says Momentics can't be install on Ubunty7 64Bits.  Is it ok for Ubuntu8?

I run the IDE fine on Ubuntu 8.04.2 64bit

Any black magic you had to perfor?. When I try to install it, it quits after Preparing Java(tm) Virtutal Machine........

I think I installed the sun 64bit and 32bit vms

Yeah I think IDE (and installer) needs 32bit vm and all native 32 libraries, because it is not 64bit native.

Thanks trying to install the 32bit vm now.  Linux is new to me.
