seedres causing error messages in boot process
Hello Experts,

I may have placed this question into a wrong category of QNX forum before, so please do not mind if you find it here
again.

When I installed QNX 6.3.2 to the first of several PC x86 target computers recently, it displayed these messages:

( ... BIOS messages ... )
Press F1-F4 to select drive or select partition 1? 1
Hit Esc for .altboot...........................................
..............Unable to allocate resource: Invalid argument
Unable to allocate resource: Invalid argument
Unable to allocate resource: Invalid argument
Unable to allocate resource: Invalid argument
Unable to allocate resource: Invalid argument
Unable to allocate resource: Invalid argument
Unable to allocate resource: Invalid argument
Unable to allocate resource: Invalid argument
Unable to allocate resource: Invalid argument
Unable to allocate resource: Invalid argument
( ... no more output displayed for some Minutes ... )
Press the space bar to input boot options or D to disable DMA
( ... startup continues displaying normal messages ... )

With more verbose boot output, it became clear that seedres caused the messages.

The computers (x86 Workstation PC, not notebooks) have Intel CPU, Asus main board, middle of the road equipment. I have

switched BIOS option "PnP OS" NO as requested by the QNX installation instruction. However, in the "seedres" chapter of

QNX user's manual, this option is requested to be switched to YES, in order to enable seedres or pci-bios respectively

to configure the hardware.

The error messages do not care whether "PnP OS" is YES or NO in the BIOS configuration.

Can someone give advice?

Thank you and regards,

Michael Haas/FH Braunschweig/Wolfenbuettel

I've ask the same question in another forum and the QNX master on the subject mention that these are only warning and
should be ignored.
