Generate an SSH key pair

Generate a public/private key pair and forward the public key to CollabNet Operations.

• Follow these instructions on Windows:
  1. Download and install PuTTY using putty-0.60-installer.exe from http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86.
  2. Run puttygen.exe.

     The PuTTY Key Generator window appears.

  3. Select SSH-2RSA for Type of key to generate and enter 1024 for Number of bits in a generated key. Click Generate.
  4. Click Save public key.
  5. Click Save private key.
  6. Copy and paste the contents of the text area Public key for pasting into OpenSSH authorized keys file. Send it to CollabNet Operations by opening a Support case or contacting your account manager.
• Follow these instructions on Linux:
  1. Run the command ssh-keygen –t rsa and provide the details requested.

     Your public key is generated.

  2. Send it to CollabNet Operations to install on the CCF server -- open a Support case or contact your account manager.
