QNX Operating System#

The operating system? Or the kernel? Actually we're going to talk about the kernel and the process manager here... So, isn't that the whole operating system? Well, yes -- if you're already a QNX geek. If you're coming from other OSs, you'll be thinking that disk file systems, device drivers and internet explorer are part of the OS too. But QNX is a microkernel OS so we don't think those things are part of the OS. So there!

Even within QNX the term "operating system" is used without consistency. So we'll try to be careful to say what we mean when we use the term. For now: QNX Operating System = kernel and process manager.
