Some window contents aren't refreshed
Howdy,

I'm using QNX 6.4.1 under VMware 6.5.2 build-156735 via Remote Desktop 5.1.2600.2180. When I open the Helpviewer, the
content pane is never refreshed. When I open the Web browser, nothing within the Window decorations (i.e., title bar
and edges) is refreshed. When I open the Users configuration tool and press the Advanced button, only the window
decorations and the gray bar and "Done" button at the bottom of the User and Group Manager window are refreshed. Does
anyone know what causes this and/or how to fix it?

Hey Matt,
This reminds me of the general problem (you see it with phindows as well)
where the double buffered containers in the web browser (which is used by
help as well) don't get updated. If I am right, it has to do with how the
vmware graphics driver represents itself to Photon.

Hopefully one of the QNX guys can comment on this.

Rick..

Have you tried running VMware without using Remote Desktop? I.e locally
loging in to the machine? If all is fine on the local display, then it's
a problem with VMware in conjunction with Remote Desktop. You may want
to check on the VMware support forums.

Max

No, I haven't tried running VMware without using Remote Desktop. I'll probably try that Monday.

I searched for this combination (VMware, QNX, and Remote Desktop) and found one post on the VMware forums, but the
author was reporting lockups rather than missing refreshes.

As you can see, I didn't quite get to this on Monday.

When I run VMware without using Remote Desktop, QNX displays the following message:

 Unable to start graphics driver(s)

and then displays a login prompt in text mode.
