Fsys for Intel Q87
Hi,

Is there any known issues or limitations regarding Fsys.atapi or Fsys.ahci for use with Intel Q87 chipset?

I have a Hatteland C02 Hx compact marine PC where both Fsys.atapi and Fsys.ahci crashes when trying to detect disk
controller when booting from CD-ROM.

Hi Darel,

Can you post here the crash screen or error message?

Hi Oleg, please see attached "screenshots" of both Fsys.atapi (with BIOS in SATA IDE emulation mode) and Fsys.ahci (with
 BIOS in SATA AHCI mode).

Hi Darel,

The issue with Fsys.atapi looks like the issue on some modern PCI BIOSes. Try to use both the latest Fsys.atapi and
Proc32. To fix this issue you have to add -E0 option to Proc32 and rebuild your boot image. You can find updated modules
 here:

As for the Fsys.ahci issue, I haven't seen such situation before. In this case also try to update both Proc32 and Fsys.
ahci modules and add -E0 to Proc32. Let me know how this affects on your issue.

Respectfully,
Oleg

Re: Fsys for Intel Q87
Thanks Oleg,
The "-E0" option for Proc32 solved my problem nicely.
Are there any drawbacks to using that option even for systems that do not actually need it?

Re: Fsys for Intel Q87
Hi Darel,

It should work. But keep in mind that this is experimental software. There will be an updated Proc32 with -E0
functionality, it seems that it contains issue that affects PCI devices detection on some systems in some cases.

Respectfully,
Oleg
