Network problems
We are evaluating an AAEON 6614 Box PC with the following specs:
CPU	Intel® Quad Core 1.83GHz SoC N2930
Memory	DDR3L 1333 SODIMM x 1, Max. 8GB
Display	VGA x 1, HDMI x 1
Ethernet	Gigabit Ethernet, RJ-45 connector x 2 (i211)
Storage        SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5” HDD/SSD Bay x 1 CFastTM Slot x 1 (W/ cover protection)

Starting the network driver (Net.e1000) causes Net to crash.
We see the following messages
Find device -x1539 - status 0x0
Read status 0x0
//1/bin/Net terminated (SIGSEGV) at 0015:000003D8
Net.e1000 INITIALIZATION ERROR 3
net_reg failed

If Net is started with the -v option, then "Net : Runtime Error 0035 Net: Runtime Error 0007" continually are output to
 the display.

Please help!

Re: Network problems
Here's what I see with the supplied Net..e1000 driver. (Net is version 4.25G July 6, 2010)
Start Net from the command line, then Net.e1000 -v &
Device 1539 - Revision 3
After fix-ups FlowControl is now = 0
Forcing Speed and Duplex
M88E1000 PSCR: 0x3150
Full Duplex
Forcing 10mb
Unable to establish link!!!
Initializing Flow Control address, type and regs.
Masking off all interrupts
NVM word 0x03 is not mapped
NVM word oxo3 is not mapped
Masking off all interrupts
NVM word oxo3 is not mapped

//1/bin/Net terminated (SIGSEGV) at 0015:000003D8
Net.e1000 INITIALIZATION ERROR 3

Re: Network problems

RE: Network problems
Hugh,
We are in crisis mode here as our current working model stock (now EOL) is quickly being depleted.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Nick F.

Re: Network problems
Unfortunately I’m busy with very high priority work right now, so cannot
look at anything else.
Your best bet is to contact your sales rep to escalate this problem.

Re: Network problems
How are you starting the Ethernet card driver? I have a laptop that had a similar problem and I ended up manually
starting the driver using the options to specify the vendor and the ID. Then after running that I put in a sleep 5
command. for some reason it takes a little longer for the driver to finish initializing.

  Hope it helps
RE: Network problems
Hi Harry,

Here's the network starting sequence from sysinit

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Net &
Net.e1000 -l1 &
 sleep 5
 netboot &
nameloc &
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
