Has anyone attempted to use QNET over HDLC?

I have a hardware setup that has multiple devices on an I2C bus that is shared between two different units. I'm trying 
to find a way to prevent collisions on the bus and thought the shared semaphore would be ideal. I can't use QNET over 
ethernet because of security practices.

If you have other ideas on how to synchronize the bus between both units, feel free to throw them out!
