devnp-rtl8169.so driver in qnx 6.5.0 with io-pkt-v4-hc
QNX 6.5.0 on x86 BIOS board (dual core Intel processor)

The network driver generates infinity number of messages listed below and a computer never gets IP address from the DHCP
server on power on. The computer network cable is plugged into the computer and the network before the power is
switched on.

I have seen few posts related to this issue and surprised that that issue still exist since was promised to be fixed.

Is there any fix available from developers or QNX web site?

Here's the latest driver for you to try.

Re: devnp-rtl8169.so driver in qnx 6.5.0 with io-pkt-v4-hc
Hi Hugh,

Thanks for the attachment, it solved my issue. Here is what happened:
- Our devices uses QNX 6.5.0, with RealTek NIC.
- Our ifconfig media was set to 100baseT/duplex, which is sufficient for our need.
- I uses iperf to push over 80Mbps UDP to our device. For a few seconds, our device network will crash or hung, power
cycle will be needed to bring its network back.

I used your attachment for devnp-rtl8169.so, it solves the problem. I can pump over 400Mbps to device, and device can
realize 90Mpbs on iperf server.

Can you elaborate for what is change on devnp-rtl8169.so? I am guessing may be in the area of loadshedding or traffic
control at MAC layer.

Thanks,

Tao

There have been multiple changes to the 8169 driver, especially to the PHY
firmware for the different devices.
