No link with e1000 driver
Sometimes my INTEL PRO/1000 Gigabit ethernet adapter (Device ID: 0x10d3) using the e1000 driver do not have a link.

I attached the output of slogger for good and bad case. I do not realy understand what the e1000 driver is doing!

Best regards,

Steffen

Please try the latest driver from the link below and see if it cures the
problem.

Re: No link with e1000 driver
Unfortunately the error occures very rarely. So it's really hard to reproduce. But I'll do my best.

In the slogger output I miss the "Link up" entry. There are only a lot of "Link down" and "Unable to establish link"
entries. Where can I see that everything works fine?

Best regards,

Steffen
Re: No link with e1000 driver
The easiest way is to write a shell script that runs in a loop, slaying and
then re-starting the driver. You can use the if_up command to see whether
the link is up or not, after you have run dhcp.client or ifconfig to
configure the interface.
