Forum Topic - 4.6.0 can't install plug-in: (6 Items)

4.6.0 can't install plug-in
I'm trying to install mylyn and I get : QNX Momentics QNX SDK (4.6.0.v200812041329-7d7w-E8McIJXScIz0Tk0) requires
feature "org.eclipse.cdt (5.0.2)", or compatible.

Having played 5.0.1 (Ganymede) before, I noticed that 4.6.0 doesn't have the same update manager as Ganymede. Is that
expected?

Re: 4.6.0 can't install plug-in
We have noticed this dependency issue and have fixed it in the next build.

At this time we don't use the new P2 update manager in our IDE. We use the traditional update manager which most of our
customers are familiar with.

Ok thanks, will have to wait for the next build, can`t live without my favourite plug-in ;-)

Anyway to make this optional, or to provide a procedure to manually update to the new update manager ( that sounds funny
). The new update manager seems SO much nicer.

P2 is removed from the IDE. If you want it back you need to manually add all the P2 related plugins.

Right now we don't see any benefit to enable P2 in our IDE. We want to maintain the look and feel of the update manager
to minimize impact to our customers. We might change our decision later if there is enough customer interests in P2.

Ok I`ll try that. Thanks.

How will they know it exists ... I bet if they all would see it, you`d get lots of request, lol! But enough said you
got my voice as a customer, you take it from there.

+1 from me too ... I'd like to see P2 enabled by default.
