Forum Topic - 4.5.1 20081104 - SystemProfiler - CPU Usage - broken sorting: (10 Items)

4.5.1 20081104 - SystemProfiler - CPU Usage - broken sorting
Hi,
within the new build of 4.5.1 you can't sort your tables within the SP display type "CPU usage" by clicking on the
column titles.
This does not work in any of the available panes "by CPU" or "by priority"

/hp

Is anything suspicious in the log file?

not for me.
I've attached my current ".log" file

It's working with the released version 4.5

I have some more detailed information for you.
Go to: Window -> Preferences -> QNX -> System Profiler -> CPU Usage
and change the "Table Data Format" to "Percentage" or "Percentage (Time)"
if you chose one of the two formats that start with percentage sorting is not working
I've double checked the version since when this is broken
guess what - it's in there since 4.0.1

Well that's embarrassing ... If I remember correctly the sorting was
based off the label provider key
so it should be straightforward to fix since we don't need to actually
do any work to do the sort since
the time and the percentages 'sort the same'.

For now you'll have to use time (percentage) I guess.

Sorry about that,
 Thomas

Hi HP,

I've tried reproducing your issue on both 4.5.0 and the 4.5.1 milestone build, in both Window and Linux and I'm not
seeing the behaviour you are reporting. I am able to sort the table regardless of the table data format (including when
 using percentage based formats).

Any chance you can send me your .kev file? Perhaps there is something in the data that is causing the issue.

Thanks,
David

AW: 4.5.1 20081104 - SystemProfiler - CPU Usage - broken sorting
Hi David,
on my side it is happening with any trace I have - independant from the machine I get the trace from.
It happens for ARM, SH and Intel SMP, but it only happens on using percentage as the column value.
Find attached a short trace from our Intel system running a simple test.
Maybe it is a problem of my host system (WinXP Pro SP2)?
But I've tested this also with my colleagues, and they have the some problem.

thanks

I've had some success reproducing the issue.

Before I commit a fix, can you confirm that your regional settings are set to a language that uses a comma as the
decimal place? e.g. German
Re: AW: 4.5.1 20081104 - SystemProfiler - CPU Usage - broken sorting
HP lives in Germany, so I think that's the case.

Regards,

Colin

may be this is a double reply
my first answer to the notify mail did not make it

I can confirm this one, and I also double checked this by changing my region settings to "English"
With this it is working.
