Fail to establish PPP connection between Nutrino and Windows
Hi,
I try to set up a PPP connection between Nutrono and windows, I follow the steps in the link below:
http://www.qnx.com/developers/docs/6.3.0SP3/ide_en/user_guide/target.html
Also briefing here the steps:
1) Connect a serial cable between them, use COM1 for both.
2) On the Nutrino machine:
a. Create a /etc/ppp/options file containing the following:
debug
57600
/dev/ser1
10.0.0.1:10.0.0.0
b. run
io-net -ptcpip -ppppmgr
c. run
pppd
3) On Windows machine
a. In the Control Panel window, select Network Connections.
b. In the New Connection Wizard dialog, click Set up an advanced connection, then click Next
c. Select Connect directly to another computer, then click Next.
d. When prompted for the role of your target, choose Guest.
e. Name your connection (e.g. "ppp_biscayne").
f. When prompted to select a device, choose Communications Port (COM1), then click Next.
When prompted to specify whether you want this connection to
be for your use only, or for anyone's, select Anyone's use.
If you want Windows to create a desktop shortcut, click the
option on the last page of the wizard. If not, simply click Finish.
g. In the Connect name_of_target dialog, enter your user ID and
password, the select Properties.
Select the Options tab.
Turn off the option Prompt for name and password, certificate, etc., then click OK
When you connect through the PPP link on Windows, it can not get connected. Since, I don't know what's the user name,
and password. I simply leave them empty.
Question is:
Any steps missing in order to get this working?
Thanks a lot
