IDE 4.0.1 tells "Error in Build Variants" if I want to create a "QNX C Project"
Hello,

I tried to create a "QNX C Project" (File -> New -> QNX C Project). I gave it a name "test" -> Next and in the next
windows it tells me "Error in Build Variants". The Build Variants tab is completly empty.
I had a look on the System variables, in the QNX630-target folder and in the config files of momentics.

Has someone any idea?

Thanks in advanced.

This is not an error but a correct message. Just select proper build
variant(s), and the message disappears. If you'd like to avoid this
message next time, set your default build variant(s) in the preferences.

Regards,

Alex

Hello, thanks for your answear.

In general you are right. But my "Build Variants" - tabs in EMPTY!
So I cannot select any build variants.

How does the IDE4 loads this variants? Does someone know?

Kind regards.

Re: IDE 4.0.1 tells "Error in Build Variants" if I want to create
The answer is simple. But it is not easy to understand what's going on on your computer. IDE presents debug and release
variant for each compiler it finds in $QNX_HOST/etc/qcc/ ... For example, in my case these are:

C:\QNX632\host\win32\x86\etc\qcc>ls
default gcc icc

C:\QNX632\host\win32\x86\etc\qcc>cd gcc

C:\QNX632\host\win32\x86\etc\qcc\gcc>ls
2.95.3 3.3.5 4.2.1 default

C:\QNX632\host\win32\x86\etc\qcc\gcc>cd ..\icc

C:\QNX632\host\win32\x86\etc\qcc\icc>ls
8.1 default

So IDE finds : icc8.1, gcc2.95.3, gcc3.3.5 and gcc4.2.1

The fact that you see empty page means that something is broken in this schema. Check .log file located in your work
space in .metadata directory. Check the contents of previously described directories. How about QNX_HOST value, is it
valid? And the last one but not the least: check the license: is it activated?

I got the exact same problem.
Have you solved it?
Can you give some opinion?

Thanks in advanced.

I think this is actually design intent...you need to pick a variant.
The warning message should be changed to say something like "you need to
select a build variant". I will raise a problem report for the message (if
it doesn't already exist).

FYI ...the default used to be all variants but some folks didn't like that,
then the default was switched to one variant (ARMBE) but some folks didn't
like that, so now the default is nothing.
