Forum Topic - IDE 4.5 dies on me: (4 Items)

IDE 4.5 dies on me
Hello,

Through svn command line I got the QNX OS source (on a QNX self hosted). Then I start the IDE on Windows, create a new
C++ project / Makefile which I try to create on top of the files on the QNX machine ( via Samba).

When I click the "finish" button in the new project dialog a second later the IDE self terminates. There is no entry in
 the log file.

I suspect it may have something to do with svn because if I try to get the source for SVN from within the IDE as soon as
it tries to pull out the source it dies in pretty much the same fashion.

The second example: is it about any source or this particular one(QNX
OS). If so, could you provide the exact URL of data you checked out?

Alex

I updated to the latest version, in the process I end up with a totaly fresh "eclipse" directory. I then was able to
create the project, no problem.

Then I installed the subclipse plug-in, I tried to browse SVN Repository by entering http://community.qnx.com/svn/repos/
coreos_pub/trunk as the URL. The IDE self terminated

I then deleted the project I created first and try recreate it and then it would self terminate. Seems like it's
related to the subclipse plug-in somehow.

I restarted with a fresh eclipse install bus installed subversive instead, recreated the project. Everything went fine.

There is something fishy going on with subclipse. Maybe something is corrupted in my workspace. I"m a bit confused as
to what is what.

I got under my directory a bunch of subdirectory:
- Momentics
   - 4.5
      ...
- Momentics-tau
   - configuration
      .
- My Document
  - workspace-tau-alpha (that's were I force Eclipse to put my workspace)

I guess I should delete the Momentics and Momentics-tau and try again from scratch, what do you think?

Re: IDE 4.5 dies on me
We are still evaluating the two Eclipse Subversion plugins. We will likely include one of them in the next release but
so far there are pros and cons for each of them. "Subversive" seems to be more stable then its competitor.

As to your "momentics" folders, I assume you are using the latest 4.5 integration build, so:
- you can safely delete the "Momentics-tau" folder; it's an old configuration folder for the Alpha release of 4.5.
- if you don't need to preserve your current IDE configuration like indexing and changed preferences, you can delete the
"Momentics/4.5" folder and start from a fresh configuration.
- your workspace can be kept unless you want to rename it to be something post-alpha.
