Forum Topic - QNX Momentics IDE startup: (3 Items)

QNX Momentics IDE startup
I'm having trouble finding the QNX Momentics IDE start up icon called workbench. I have installed the QNX RTOS
successfully on my computer and have successfully activated the product. But I can not find the "Workbench icon" in
order to develop a QNX program. I have read the installation guide and am fairly certain I did that correctly. I have
also read "10 Steps to Developing a QNX Program: Quickstart Guide" and that is where I learned about the "Workbench icon
" that I cannot find. What would you suggest I do?
RE: QNX Momentics IDE startup
It's in the IDE's Welcome screen, not on your desktop. The desktop icon
for the IDE looks like a glowing blue sphere.

RE: QNX Momentics IDE startup
You said "I have installed the QNX RTOS successfully on my computer" did
you mean you installed the Neutrino OS? If yes the Neutrino OS (also
called self-hosted) does not have the IDE. You need to install the QNX
Software Development Platform (also called Momentics) to a Windows or
Linux machine.

On a Windows machine there is Start Menu shortcut to run the IDE.

On a Linux machine the shortcut may not be created depends on the
version of Linux you run. You can run the IDE from command line by
typing "qde".
