We need more information from your problem report :-)

- What was the state of the IDE? Was is frozen? Were you be able to
switch to other views?
- How did you create the .kev file? From IDE or from the remote target?
- What's the size of your .kev file? Was it small enough that you can
attach to this message so that we can try it?

When I load a .kev file the progress bar goes to 100% but then nothing else happen.  

Sorry I though it was so obvious that I didn`t bother to include details:

- The IDE is responding fine.  The top progress bar goes all green, the big "Cancel Data Loading" button is naging me, 
It stays like that until my patient ran out. Pressing the cancel button does nothing aside graying out the button. I can
 close the view no problem and resume work.
- I get the kev file by starting a kernel trace from the IDE.  I traced a 6.5 and 6.4.1 machine and problem shows up on 
both.
- I ran a trace of .5 sec which gave a small file that you will find attached to this mail
