single-instance minimal system font rendering
I have an app running in a minimal embedded system (no GUI, window manager, none of that) and need to render small
strings (e.g "hello world") into bitmaps. I don't want to do any message passing or font servers, and will be happy with
a single simple font for all strings. I'd like everything to be resolved at compile time. I can't quite tease out how
to do this from the documentation. This description seems to match my desires:
Finally, you might determine that you need some applications to run private font server instances to improve font
rendering speed.
Can anyone point me to the required compile-time requirements for this?
