Poulsbo and screen resiolution
Hi,

On my system (see attached get_hw_info) I'm using the devg-poulsbo.so as video driver.
http://www.qnx.com/developers/docs/6.4.1/neutrino/utilities/d/devg-poulsbo.so.html

It works fine with a resolution of 1024 x 768. But if I tried to set the resolution to 1280 x 1024 it failed and go back
 to 1024 x 768.
See all messages at the end of the sloginfo but the most important seems to be:

/usr/photon/bin/io-graphics: gf_dev_attach('/dev/io-display/8086,8108,0'): gf errno 2

Any idea why this error occurs?

Thanks,
Christophe

RE: Poulsbo and screen resiolution
Hi,

Can you tell us what board this is and what type of display you are
using?

Can you exit to text mode and run 'show_vesa' and post the output?

Thanks

RE: Poulsbo and screen resiolution
I believe with this setup the driver will end up trying to use the video BIOS to set the graphics mode. (in particular
sDVO output likely to DVI or VGA)

The output of show_vesa lists 1024x768 but not 1280x1024 which is the issue.

Unfortunately with the current driver there is no way to override using of the BIOS. We hope to address this in a
future release.

RE: Poulsbo and screen resiolution
Hello Michael,

Thank you for your reply.

Only to know you are involved in this driver development?

Anyway waiting for a new release fixing this I will also tried to see with the BIOS developer to know if he can fixed
this at the BIOS level.

We will see which of these two solutions will be available first.

Regards,
Christophe Hannoyer

Re: RE: Poulsbo and screen resiolution
Hello,

I create an image with a small demo running Photon. I run this image without any problem on an Atom Z530. A customer is
using this image on an Atom Z510 and he get the error :
/usr/photon/bin/io-graphics: gf_dev_attach('/dev/io-display/8086,8108,0'): gf errno 2
when starting io-graphics.

I attach to this post the show_vesa. I notice some difference with the previous I posted here but I don't know if thias
can explain that.

Any idea ?

Thanks,
Christophe

What resolution and color depth are they trying to run at?

Thanks
