Forum Topic - Run PPC application on x86 Neutrino VM?: (5 Items)

Run PPC application on x86 Neutrino VM?
QNX newbie here. I searched the forums and web and could not find an answer. I have an x86 application (computer A)
that interacts with a PPC Neutrino host running Application B. I want to run the PPC Application B on an x86 Neutrino
VM so that I can test computer A without connecting to the physical PPC Neutrino host. I have a udf file that contains
the path to the .hex files comprising the application. Can the hex files or udf be imported into Momentics, then aimed
at the x86 Neutrino VM target?
Thanks!

Are you trying to run PPC executables on x86? That cannot work, as the processor architectures are entirely different.

Re: AW: Run PPC application on x86 Neutrino VM?
What you can do is you can recompile application B for x86 then you can run it on neutrino simulator (assuming it is not
 hardware specific)

RE: AW: Run PPC application on x86 Neutrino VM?
Can you recompile from the .hex files or would you need the source code?

You need source code (.hex means binary??)
