The best place to start is to read through:
http://community.qnx.com/sf/wiki/do/viewPage/projects.core_os/wiki/ContributingToCoreOS

You currently can only provide external support. We are still working out the details for external committers.

We expect to have the bug tracking system online in a month or so and at that time the best thing to do is to start
contributing back patches. In the meantime you can familiarize yourself with the build, the source and how it all fits
together.

Hope this helps

Re: To join kernel development team
Hi, I'm new to the QNX source handling process, and I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but will either
(Modified) BSD or MIT licensed contributions be accepted for the QNX source tree?

I'll give the nebulous answer of "it depends". Ideally we like
to strive to have original source content in certain areas of
the tree, while in others the rules are less stringent.

We already take advantage of several excellent BSD components,
similarly with the MIT licensed pieces. You can see the license
guide for more details if you are really interested.

When external committers are allowed on the core QNX source
components (tentatively aimed at Q2-2008), they will most likely(1)
have to agree to have the code released under the general QNX
copyright/license.

So ... what is the nature of the contribution?

Hope this helps,
 Thomas

1: This is currently speculation based on internal discussions we
have had about opening up this process.
Re: RE: To join kernel development team
Hi, I have no plans to make a contribution at the moment. I was merely curious about the arrangements, and I wanted to
save others the trouble of asking again, later ;)

It is a good question to ask. We are still busy ramping up a lot of infrastructure, vetting source and working out a
large assortment of small details that go along with a transformation of this type.

Thanks,
 Thomas
